Customer loyalty schemes are managed by retail giants using electronic “reward” cards - but the personal touch is more successful for the team at 5th Avenue Hair and Beauty Salon.Making clients feel part of a friendship group is the key to the continuing success of the Bedford town centre salon in the face of ever-growing competition.“Women have a special relationship with their hair stylist or beauty therapist and spend a significant part of their hard-earned money with them. It is important they feel they are getting something back,” says Kerry Cash who has been running her business for nearly 20 years. Two seasonal events demonstrated the special relationship between 5th Avenue and their “club class” clients.A sparkling Shopping Sunday, including bubbly and a buffet, saw 50 women book appointments to spend, spend spend - and collect some special rewards. And the now regular Supper Clubs at The Embankment Hotel culminated in the Christmas meal on November 16th with a party atmosphere.Said one client: “Kerry and team never fail to thank you for your custom and the shopping Sunday and the supper nights are simply fun where you get so much back for choosing 5th Avenue.”Kerry also backs other businesses in Bedford. She has volunteered as a Board member of BedfordBID, and Bedford College Commercial Services Ltd and was a successful Chair of the Bedfordshire Businesswomen’s Club. She and her team regularly offer vital work experience opportunities to trainees in the industry, including inviting them along to take part in the Ladies Day events at Bedford Rugby Club.
