Singing for our suppers

Our supper evenings are proving a sell out every time. The next one will be a Christmas gift bonus event, so keep a look out for details.
An evening at The Embankment Hotel combined a funny and inspiring talk by Mrs Dorothy Purdew, owner of Champneys health spas, with a unveiling of the fabulous Elemis range now available here at 5th Avenue.
I started my career as one of Mrs Purdew’s £29.50 a week YTS trainees, so it was great to welcome her and two other lovely ladies to make this the ‘Kerry’ show - Champneys Henlow’s Kerry Symons and Kerry Attfield of Bedford College’s Brooks Hair and Beauty Salon
The 5th Avenue supper night cost £25 per head and included a glass of bubbly, two-course dinner, free goodie bag and raffle ticket to win prizes like a day for two at Champneys, an overnight stay at The Embankment and flowers from Fleurettes of Bedford - plus discounts off products and treatments.
We also applauded: our Brooks trainees who had helped to raise £500 for charity at the Bedford Rugby Club ‘Pink Day, staff member Merecedes who now has a “degree” in hair colouring following specialist training from a school in London and how much I had enjoyed being a judge at the fantastic Bedford College Hair and Beauty Show.
We know you are still busy enjoying your holidays - so don’t forget our new range of electrolysis treatments, waxings and pedicures. But remember - our next supper is going to be a Christmas event, so save your gift buying until then.
